What the Parents of our Campers are Saying:

I was fortunate enough to send my two sons to the Zen Summer Camp this past summer. As a busy mother of three very active children, I am always on the look out for versatile camps to keep my boys challenged and entertained.  Zen Summer Camp provided me with more than I could have asked for! My six and eight year old boys were anxious to get to camp every single morning, and thoroughly enjoyed their entire week. When I picked them up at the end of each day they were filled with tales of sports, swimming, martial arts, crafts, games, and friendship. We couldn't have been happier with this program!! The boys are excited to attend once again next summer.

As the mother of two very different boys, ages 7 and 8, it was very difficult to find one camp for both of them to go to that would fulfill both of their needs.  The Zen Summer Camp did just that. There was lots of time for them to be active (not just karate, but also swimming, bowling, mini golf, etc), there was some down time with games and crafts from them to get to know the other campers and have some less strenuous fun.  The boys were always willing to go (a difficult thing when it comes to summer camps!), and always tired when coming home.  We will definitely be going back next summer.

My kids have attended Zen Summer Camp for the past few summers and they just love it. As soon as they arrive, everyone is so welcoming and they meet friends right away. The counselors and Junior counselors are really playful and understanding with the campers. One of the greatest things about Zen Summer Camp is the variety in their events and programs:  every day is different, every week is different, every year is different.  My kids also really enjoy the fresh air every day and the swimming every other day.

As a parent, I find the management of the Camp to be highly organized, responsible and reliable.  For example, each of the four "houses" has three to six campers, one counselor and two junior counselors.  Therefore, the "counselor to camper" ratio is superb.

In Summer 2012, my eldest daughter was 11 years old and was a Junior Counselor for the first time.  She really enjoyed having input and helping with the daily activities.  By being a Junior Counselor, she also gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of the effort and responsibilities involved in planning, setting up and overseeing activities and special events.

At Zen Summer Camp, I know that my kids are in good hands, will have lots of fun, will get plenty of fresh air and exercise, and will build lasting memories and friendships.

Looking forward to Summer Camp 2013!
